Kindnesskards.com is a site about Random Acts of Kindness.

All too often we hear about the ugliness, meanness and cruelty in the world. How many times have we ignored the homeless person pushing the cart?  Averted our eyes when someone passes by that is different?  Let the new person in our office find their own way?  Looked in anger at the woman who can't control her child?  We have no idea what their life is like.  Is that womans husband away fighting for our country? Is the child autistic? Does she have a full plate and no backup?  What about the new person?  Are we missing a chance to meet a new friend?  The person that is different may be that way due to an accident, birth disorder, or a mental illness.  They may be in pain inside and out.  The homeless person does not want to be that way but circumstances have made it so. The one thing they all have in common is that they feel ashamed, guilty and alone, very alone.  They are the invisible people.

We rarely ever hear about Kind Acts.  This website is meant to change all of that.  We have created Kindness Kards.  These are cards that are given out when a Random Act of Kindness has been committed in hope that the  person that received the act will go on to commit another Random Act of Kindness and keep it moving forward.

My husband and I were in a restaurant having dinner, there was an elderly couple next to us, the Husband was singing little ditties to his Wife and she was obviously enjoying them.  We were too. It was so sweet to see them holding hands across the table.  When we went to leave I said to my husband, "I want to buy them dinner"  He said "Go Ahead"  so we did, I can not even begin to tell you what a wonderful feeling it was to anonymously buy their dinner.  The look on the waitress's face when she got to give them the card was priceless also. It was a completely joyful feeling.  It made me smile for a week afterward.   We want to share that feeling with you.

This site is a way of getting those cards in your hands  so you can share the feelings we felt when giving a Random Act of Kindness.

What can I do?  Random Acts of Kindness can be as simple as a smile and a kind word to someone who is usually overlooked, a cup of coffee on a cold night, a bottle of water on a hot day.  You could buy lunch for someone who hasn't eaten in a while or leave a note of encouragement for someone having a bad day.  Buy a gift certificate for a local fast food restaurant and give it to a homeless person.  If you can afford it,  buy someones dinner, pay a vet bill for someone who's beloved pet is sick and can't afford it.  There are many ways to be kind to one another, it doesn't have to be expensive, be creative.

We are firm believers in Karma.  We totally believe that the more Kindness you send out, the more Kindness you will receive. Can we change the world?  Probably not,
(As Mother Teresa once said, "You can do no big things.  Only small acts with great love.") but you can make  your corner of the world better by committing Random Acts of Kindness.  Be the pebble dropped in the pond and watch the ripples expand from your actions.

We have set up a Testimonials page, we want you to contact us and tell us about a Random Act of Kindness you gave or received and how  it felt. It is a fact that when you commit a Random Act of Kindness, endorphins are released, this causes your blood pressure to be lower, your stress to be reduced and it just plain feels Great!  Even reading about the acts increase your feelings of Joy.

We also hope to see how far the Kindness Kards and the Random Acts of Kindness travel. We want to see how far our the ripples from our pebble expand.  We want to see lots of pebbles dropped and lots of ripples.
